Six Milestones in Six Hundred Miles...
So many things over the break, I put it down to the presence of lots of kids - especially cousin Zeekie, and the guiding influence of his father over this time...lucky boy!.
First and foremost - Liam's crawling! Boo-yah! His favourite thing to crawl to is...the vacuum cleaner. We do love our machines. I must admit I thought he would go from the walrus to walking, but he had other plans - still uses this technique to get under furniture but its fallen out of favour fast - like in three or four days.
.
Secondly - we're pulling ourselves up to standing on mum, dad and furniture, though we have no sense of consequences when we let go. So the little arms and legs are stong - like an ox.
.
Thirdly we're saying 'Duh!' and maybe 'Duh...kuh!' when we are reading 'Busy Diggers' or 'Busy Dumpers'.
.
Forthly we're pointing at things during the good old game of "where's such-and-such?". Not always the right things though...and theres some conjecture over which one of us is mum and which one is dad from time to time.
.
Fifthly we're copying hand movements - we've had a week of blustery westerlies here so I gestured that it was "windy windy windy" to Liam - and he added the move to his repertoire there and then. Sharp - like a tack.
.
And finally we have had our first couple of swim-dangles and we loved them - first was in the river at Kaitoke Regional Park in Wellington (my favourite spot in Wellington as a halfling), and another in Lake Tarawera at the Trowers place. He absolutely loved it - so we'll take him for a swim at the beach when/if the water warms up a tad.
.
Big up to all those in both our families who we caught up with along our travels - we had fun - hope you all did too.
