The Melbourne Storm...
We're back from our ten days in Melbourne, and what a ten days - a bit of a bloody nightmare they were! Ant and Krissy's wedding was really awesome (many thanks to the newly-weds for their patience through the week) and it was really great to catch up (albiet briefly) with many of our friends there plus Auntie Anja and Uncle Robbie. But it really was tough going, much more so than we expected. Liam's sleeping was irregular, and tended to coincide with the infrequent bouts of fine weather, and unfortunately the one day he was good for a trip out to Puffing Billy happened to be Melbourne's coldest November day in 80 years - so we pulled the plug on that. He also decided to start shrieking literally every time something didn't go his way, something he hasn't really done before and hasn't really done since - so we found our tension levels were nearing the redline. Plus we had to watch him like a hawk where ever we went which was exhausting. We ended up spending a lot of time letting him run amok at Chadstone Mall - not really what we had in mind for a week away but thats parenting...Putting the havoc of the holiday behind us, my co-host the lovely Saady joins me in the thirty-something category today. To celebrate I lovingly cooked her some virtual pancakes this morning (we discussed how delicious they would have been over email today), the real ones remaining unmade because Liam decided to get the festivities underway at the unsociable hour of 4am this morning. I'll get them in the pan sometime soon my love...not sure when...keep watching the stove...
